Work permit, part 3

I just called the nice lady at the Arbeits Amt to see if I'm legal or not. Nope, I'm not legal, a letter has been sent to my work explaining exactly why. Mick calls up to speak to the nice lady, thinking I've misunderstood. Nope, I didn't misunderstand. See, Germany has 4+ million unemployed and my company has to search for a copetent German before they can hire me. Regardless of the fact that I've been working here for more than a year. Irregardless that Mick has been searching for over a year for another co-worker and hasn't found anybody he likes (or anybody that likes us) enough to hire - German or otherwise. So now my bosses have to write another letter and I have to go to another office, etc.
