Work Christmas Party

Yesterday I went into work, stayed 10 minutes, and went back home to sleep. I just could not function. However, the Christmas party was yesterday evening, so I put the alarm on for 5pm. Bill and I met back at my work at 6pm for the party. I am soo glad I went! Not only did I have a good time, but I got a really cool Christmas present from my bosses!

The bosses had us play a film trivia game. They played little snippets of film dialog, and we had to write down the film title. All the dialog was in German (naturally!) by the voice actors who do the dub-overs. This made it hard for me, because I don't know the German voice over actors (actors always have the same voice over actor - Robert de Niro always has the same voice) and how they sound. It made it _really_ hard for Bill because he doesn't understand too much German. But, he still helped me on at least three movies. However, we still managed to tie for third place! Woohoo! It helped me a lot that our bosses would give small clues about who the actor in the scene (or sequence of scenes) was. After it was determined that we were tied for third, us and the other couple had to redo the quiz, but this time with the video clips, not just sound. Bill and I got a couple more doing this, but not enough. Oh well! :) It was really fun. The funny part was the big boss was almost broken hearted that we Americans did so well at the German language film trivia. :)

Then came time for the gifts from the bosses. Each of us (13 altogether) received a Canon IXUS digital camera! Woo hoo! It's the size of a 1/4 inch credit card, takes 4.0 mega pixel still photos, and has some kind of capacity for taking video (I'm still wading through the German manual). What a NICE gift! I was contemplating buying myself a digital camera this Christmas. Now, I don't have to! :D I'll probably eventually get a higher end digital camera, but this one looks extremely nice and I'm going to play with it for awhile. It came with a 32MB card that allows me to save 26 pictures at the largest resolution, 51, 86 or 163 at the successive smaller resolutions.

I've already taken the camera out today and taken two pictures (hey, I'm sick). Go to fotolog to see the first - a wider angle view of the front of my apartment. Posted by Jinglelady at December 19, 2003 03:17 PM | Previous Blog | TrackBack
