Breath in, breath out
In, out. Ah. I just got back from literally running to the movie rental store to return the movie. They close at 11pm, and I finished with the movie at 10:54. I'm all out of breath. I probably would have been done a few minutes earlier, but somebody either directly above or right behind me is either 1) moving in and hanging pictures/furniture on the wall or 2) snaking every drain hole in their apartment. This went on intermittently from 8pm to 10pm. The noise was so loud in my apartment, I couldn't hear the TV. So I had to pause, wait, rewind a little bit, watch, repeat. Really, not so bad, but it did get a little annoying.
As for the movie, well, I'm not British. It IS funny at bits, but it's more ironically funny than laugh out loud funny. And parts of it are brutual. Nothing that you see on the screen, but it's implied. It probably would have been funnier if I was watching it with friends (who like British humor) than by myself. All in all though, it is good. Not classical good that I'll want to see over and over (see:
Hudson Hawk), but I would watch it again. I guess I just felt like I'd seen parts of the film before because many of the plot devices are in Snatch. Of cource the director made Snatch after this film.
