Unusual events in the Sbahn
Tonight I had to wait fifteen minutes for my commuter train home. And while waiting, I witnessed a shouting match/near fight and hear somebody beating up a machine further down the platform. Germans are very quiet normally and they tend not to react to things much. A person could be wearing the oddest thing and doing the weirdest thing on the train, and for the most part Germans will act like there is nothing going on. They'll look at the person out of the corner of their eye or sweep their glance across them, but other than that, they pretend nothing is going on. Which is pretty much what happened on the platform tonight. Everybody reacted like these two people weren't about to punch each others lights out. Maybe people in the NYC subway are like this too. I don't know.
