Friday evening
Sorry about the light blogging the last week or two. I've just not felt like saying much lately. As you can probably tell from the tone of the last weeks blogs, work has been a bit stressful the last week. I thought it was all leading up to a customer presentation, but it was just an internal presentation to see the progress of the project, and see if things were working out as expected. In general, the project is on target, and the bigger boss was pleased with the progress. However, the values seem to be off, so now we need to go back to the scripts and see how we're doing the calculations and how those need to be changed.
After the presentation, my boss told us to go home. So, I actually left work on time! And promptly had no idea what to do with myself. It was a beautiful afternoon, so I should have gone for a walk or a bike ride, but I just didn't have the energy. So I rented a movie, took a nap, and then watched the movie. It's actually a film I've been wanting to see for a while, but everytime I went to rent a movie, either the people with me weren't interested, it wasn't in, or something was more interesting for me.
The film was
Save the Last Dance, a romance with a dance culture story background. The film was a great effort. The dancing was great - you wouldn't know the main character had never taken ballet until a month before filming. The acting was somewhere between college level amateur and professional. You could tell that a lot of the actors were fresh to the scene. Even though the main actress was mostly very convincing, there were a few pivotal plot scenes where the acting just seemed really contrived. Surprisingly, the most convincing actor was a singer who played a pivotal minor character. Overall, I really liked the movie. Great dancing, good storyline. It just had the potential to be much better.
Well, Bill is off at EuroDisney with his son this weekend, so I'm left to fend for myself. Not that I have a problem doing so. :) I'm going to relax and straighten up a little bit around the house. I've actually been very good lately about keeping the place straightened up, it's just the floors need cleaning, especially that wax spill in the bathroom. (The wax tablet needed changing and in the process of pouring it in the trash, it made a mess.)
