Booked out Janine brought me

Booked out

Janine brought me eight Janet Evonovich books when she came (Thanks Janine!) and I finished reading the seventh last night. Really want to start reading the eighth, but I want to savor it. Plus, I'm a little booked out on that "universe" right now. It's extremely funny - I received lots of "you're sick in the head" and "you're so funny" comments from Janine while I read. Good thing she wasn't here when I read the part about Grandma zapping Dad with the stun gun. I laughed for 10 minutes! The series is set in Trenton, NJ, and I can visualize each place she describes and some of the characters. Not that I spent a lot of time in Trenton, mostly the outskirts, but some things are just true of NJ. And she gets out of Trenton a lot - she visited Sea Side Heights, Princeton, South River, Quaker Bridge Mall, and Newark Airport all in the last book. All places I know. :)

So I've picked back up Sophie's World by Jostein Gaarder to fill in the time. It's a fictional story about a 15 year Swedish girl who starts a mysterious philosophy correspondence course at the same time she started receiving mysterious postcards dated two weeks in advance for another girl. I'm about a third of the way through. The book condenses 2000+ years of philosophy in it's 400ish pages, so it's a nice overview. I'm enjoying it. Lots of foreshadowing. But it's slow going - which is why it was put down a month or so ago in favor of lighter material.

Anyway, I went to work out tonight, walked home, took a shower, and now I'm exhausted. Started getting the shakes on the way home because my legs were tired and I was hungry, but I'm not much in the mood for eating. So I'm having PB crackers and coke. Yummm!
