Part two: Call the landlord
Part two:
Call the landlord and ask if we can change back to 3pm. He says it's okay by him, ask the real estate agent. That phone is busy. Continue to load while re-dialing every trip back in. Finally get through....no, we moved it to 1pm, the other renters are coming at 2pm, sorry. Explain situation...oh well. Argh....explitive explitive explitive. Hurriedly finish loading stuff from apartment and am able to start cleaning right at 1pm. Leave Dieter to get the things from basement while I vacuum, mop, etc. The real estate agent shows up at 1:20pm, makes a joke (jerk) about the sweat poring off my face, and starts walking the apartment. Landlord shows up 10 minutes later, walks around, and stands outside for awhile. Keeps making comments about how the apartment needs to be very clean....why aren't we done (explain again)....understanding nod.
Then comes time to nitpick. A wreath I had was against a wall in the bedroom and when I packed it, left five waxy green marks. Also, something fell while packing in the bedroom last weekend and left a scratch in the plaster. Mind you, I have not put a SINGLE hole in the wall the entire time I've lived there. These two marks make the bedroom unacceptable/hard for the next renters (who aren't there) to paint the bedroom as they've planned, so a professional will have to do it. First my landlord tells me (80% in all seriousness) that this means I need to paint the bedroom....I ask "what? NOW?" and he nods. I laugh. The real estate agent and my landlord start throwing figures around about the sq. meterage of the room and estimated cost (based on painting of his office) per meter to paint and come up with 90 Euro figure. Okay, FINE. Things go swimmingly along after that until we are all done, and they are about to leave to let me finish mopping before I leave.
