Alrighty then.....on with the show.

Alrighty then.....on with the show. :D

This is my weblog, aka blog. The purpose of this is to have a place to describe my life here in Germany, vent frustrations about AND celebrate cultural differences, and talk about interesting things. Oh, and to improve my writing skills. You might have noticed I have a tendency to be long winded.....

First, about the blog. You will notice the banner ad at the top? Huh, yeah, well....I don't have my own server, so I am using Blogspot.com's hosting service. As this is still an experiment, I don't want to shell out the $15/year to get rid of the banner yet. If this goes well (as in, I update on a fairly regular period and people beyond Mom and Dad find this interesting), I will pay it. Heck, one day, I might actually remain in one place long enough and feel stable enough to warrant buying a domain, space on a server and move it there. Also, I'm still fiddling with the design so don't be surprised if it changes by a little or a lot. In particular, I'm not 100% happy with the grey boxes in the sidebar on the left. Feel free to make comments/offer suggestions on the design. Just don't be surprised if I don't take them. :) Oh, and speaking of comments, one of these days I might include a comment system on here....we'll see.

Second, me! :) Instead of writing a long winded catch up episode, I'll do it in pieces or if people have questions, they can email me. If I deem the answers worthy of general knowledge, they might show up here. Here is a short synopsis:

  1. I am still in Munich, Germany.
  2. Even though Fairchild Dornier is insolvent and doesn't look like it will get better anytime soon, I am still employed by them, at least until the end of the month.
  3. I have found another job. WooYoo! Yippee!
  4. The new job is in Frankfurt, which means....
  5. I have to move to Frankfurt.
  6. The job starts Oct. 1st, but I will have my apartment in Munich until the end of Oct. Extra time to pack and clean. :)
  7. I have a boyfriend, and by complete coincidence, he lives and works in the Frankfurt area. Just to head off the questions, NO, I'm not moving in with him!

Okay, let's see how this turns out. Posted by Jinglelady at September 13, 2002 04:32 PM | Previous Blog | TrackBack
