Does Spain REALLY think that by pulling out of Iraq the terrorists will play nice and not bother their country anymore? Really?
Please...

Posted by: Mom at April 20, 2004 03:02 PMno - but most of the spanish ppl didn't want to send soldiers in the first place. government acted though there were huge demonstrations before the war. Now it's another government -> soldiers come back.
Posted by: - at April 21, 2004 06:32 PMI understand that most of the Spanish people didn't want to go. My problem is that this decision seems to be in a large part a reaction to the Madrid bombings. That's my gut feeling. As if the new government (that was elected on a huge wave of support directly after the bombings) thinks that they'll appease the terrorists by pulling out. Never mind finishing the job that was started or a slow pulling out. Two weeks to pull out is a reaction to SOMETHING, not a new government's decision.
