A handy Stitch Guide - the stitches you commonly use, all in one place. I linked to the crochet stitches, but they have knitting, cross-stitch and others available from the menu drop down.
Can you tell I'm really getting back into crocheting? I'm still on the same two projects I was last week though.

Posted by: Mom at September 22, 2004 04:15 PMI can't remember ... are you left-handed?
Yes, I am. :) I'm eeevil, doncha know? ;-)
What does that have to do with crafting??
Posted by: Anna at September 22, 2004 05:09 PMI'm the only one in my immediate family so it's cause for much interesting/teasing. Stéph is a lefty too. How's this for freaky: in his family all the males are lefties and all the females are righties, from his parents down to his neices & nephew. I think I'm the first to screw it up a bit. ;)
Posted by: Valerie at September 22, 2004 05:28 PMYou just heard from the reason why I asked. lol
My sister crochets (at least, if I remember correctly) and she's left-handed. Can you two have anything more in common or what? lol
Posted by: Amanda at September 23, 2004 12:11 AMWell, I crocheted a blanket once, with strict supervision. All other attempts at starting projects have been futile.
Posted by: Valerie at September 23, 2004 07:07 AMVal - I had to laugh at the "strict supervision", like crocheting is a hazardous substance or something! :-)
As for left-handedness it's pretty common in the children in my family. My parents and one brother are right handed, me and my other two brothers are left handed. I have an uncle who is ambi-dextrous too. I'm not sure if we have too many other relatives that are left handed or not.
Posted by: Anna at September 23, 2004 09:52 AMOur second cousin did a genetics project in middle school and tracked left-handedness. Because we're such a close family on that side, she tracked from her grandmother and her two sisters (one of which is my grandmother) on down the line. There's a ton of left-handed people in our family.
If I remember correctly, she failed the project. The teacher said it was so through that her mother had to have done it. (Bull crap!)
Posted by: Amanda at September 23, 2004 08:03 PMSounds like one of the judges at a science fair when my cousin was in in elemenatry school. She built a her own computer. (Both of her older brother's had also built their own at some point as well.) She did it all on her own. My uncle just helped out w/ ideas & suggestions when she ran into problems, but it was all her work. One of the judges (a WOMAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) said that she couldn't have done it all on her own b/c "she's a girl"!!! Needless to say my aunt & uncle fought it & put the judge in her place. lol.
