Zurich

Zurich, here I come! I purchase Bahn (train) tickets to Zurich last night. I'm leaving Friday directly after work and coming back Sunday night. And because I have a Bahn 50 Card (ie, I've already paid so flipping much for the discount card, I get all tickets for half price!), it's only costing me 93EUR.

I already have a recommendation from my boss on a sweets shop to visit and bring something back! Anybody been to Zurich? And good tips on places to see/things to do/restaurants to visit? I'll be searching around online all week but it's always nice to get recommendations from people who've been there.

So, suggest away!

So how was Zurich? The candy shop? Tell us of your adventures.

Mom - Zurich is _next_ weekend, not this one. I posted this on Saturday saying I am leaving Friday. Obviously that would have been in the past tense if I had already _left_.

I have just moved to Zurich a month ago doing a six months internship here.

Beware of the "Schweizer Heimatwerk" when buying souvenirs -- they have very lovely things but they are _very_ expensive.

Have a coffee at Sprüngli and do some "candy [Schoggi!] shopping" :)

You should also have seen the windows of Marc Chagall in the Fraumünster.

Have a nice time in Switzerland!

P.S. When you can book your train tickets more than three days in advance, you also get 50% off ("Plan & Spar") without having a Bahncard 50.

Combined with the Bahncard 25 (which is at half the price of a BC 50) you will be able to save even 62.5% when booking more than three days in advance... Sounds a little ridiculous, but that's Deutsche Bahn price policy...

I was wondering how you were able to get all those things done and still be in Zurich. Hey, at least I am reading your blog and making comments! I am just not reading it correctly.
