Glamour, music, and the Mavericks

I'm playing at being glamorous today. I went for a haircut today. I've actually found a hairstylist I like, in Germany! I don't have to go home on vacations to Mommies stylist. Not that that has anything to do with Germany, I had the same problem in Jersey. Erm, anyway. So, at the end she put my hair in these huge rollers and stuck me under the dryer for 10 minutes. My hair came out is these huge fluffy curls. Wow. For about 10 secs I fancied I looked like Christina Aguilara's new look. Still, I look mahvolous dahlin'. After paying, she gave me a gutschein for free cosmetic stuff from Douglas (pronouced doo-glass). Since I was going to buy moisterizer from them anyway, I went right away. Then I bought some nail polish that I will apply shortly.

Last weekend I was in Saturn and heard this lovely bluesy Country music playing. I asked an employee what was playing and she said it was the new Alison Krauss & Union Station. I looked for it, but couldn't find it. So, today I went back, found it, and popped it in a CD player to listen. I've always liked her stuff, but never enough to buy it. And the same goes for this album. Nice, but the songs I like the best were the ones where she wasn't the lead vocal. There are three or four songs where one of the guys in the band, Dan Tyminski, is the lead vocal. I loved those songs. But, I'm not going to buy the CD for those three or four songs. However, when I was flipping through other CD's I found two Mavericks CD's that I always thought about buying & never did. I don't know why! I love their album "What a Crying Shame" and after listening to snippets of these two other albums ("Music for Every Occasion" and "Trampoline") I took them to the cash register (they were 10Euro each). I'm sorry I've waited 5-7 years to listen to these albums! They're bluesy quirky country/rock. Some tracks remind me of the quirkiness of Dwight Yoakum's album "Gone".

Oh, and to top off the afternoon, I finally found a winter jacket! Yea! Yippee! :)
