Oops, that's "Goodbye, Lenin" (the movie), not "Goodnight, Lenin." It's really a good movie. It's about this woman who is as pro-GDR as you can get, and then she goes into a coma and the Berlin wall falls (she's in East Berlin) and democracy comes. When she awakens, her doctor stresses that she can't be surprised by anything due to her delicate condition, so her two children set about re-creating East Berlin for her.
