Since it's so cold here lately - it's not getting much above freezing and often staying between -3 and -6 at night - I decided to make myself some warm things.
First I made these small wrist warmers. I played around with various hooks, yarns, patterns, etc., but I finally ended up making a shortened version of this pattern.

Then yesterday I decided to pull some Red Heart yarn that's been in my stash forever and create myself this ribbed neck warmer pattern by Dot.

It think it's a couple rows too big, but it's in the wash right now to see if it shrinks any. Also, I dropped a couple of stitches somewhere along the way, so it's not completely uniform, but it's good enough to keep my neck and chin warm! I finished it on the train and put it right on! That got me some curious looks. :)

Looks really nice and toasty.
(Smiles!)
If you wore what you're wearing there with a coat, it would just look like you were wearing a crocheted turtleneck. But still, who cares if people gave you curious looks. You were the one that was warm, right? :)
