I found a nice yarn shop! In my little town!! I was wandering around the back part of the Marktplatz today and lo & behold, there was a little store FULL of yarn there. And NICE yarns! Lana Grossa, Noro, and the other nice brands. Not a cheapo brand in the place. Man, if I'd known that store was there 6 months ago....well, I'd probably be broke now. But think of the stash I'd have! ;)
I restrained myself and only bought one ball of yarn. One! Just one. It's Lana Grossa Dito in white. A co-worker asked me to make a baby hat for his daughter to look just like the hat in a magazine his wife saw. So that's what it's for.
Oh, and just so you don't think my town is complete hicksville - it does have another yarn/sewing/notions shop. She has a variety of mid-class yarns. Not much selection, but a little bit of everything in a variety of colors. I've bought yarn there before. But this other place is classy! Teeny tiny, but floor to ceiling with nice yarns in every color.

The baby hat turned out well, but I would really like to see your hat on an actual baby. I might just make it for my friend's new baby brother. Plus, I need to reduce my stash anyway--kill two birds with one stone. Wish me luck!
