I only managed about 5 stitches yesterday, so no progress photo then. But, it was a very romantic evening with Bill, so that more than made up for it. It's not often we're home together in the evenings during the week, so it was extra special. :)
I managed to almost double the size of the back of the sweater tonight. This stitch likes to scrunch up a lot, so I have to keep pulling it out to see how long it's actually getting. I tried to pull it out for the photo, but the carpet isn't enough to help keep it open, though it worked well enough I suppose. :)

Close up detail of the stitch:

I realized today that I hadn't said anything about what yarn I'm using yet, so that's why it's in the photo. The yarn is Italian (bought in Karlsruhe, Germany; crocheted in the USA - a true International Yarn), so I'm not sure what's the brand name and yarn name. If you can't read the photo, on top it says "Solare, Filo Di Scozia" and at the bottom it says Mondial. I can make out that it's 100% mercanized Egyptian Cotton though. :) Oh, it looks like Mondial is the brand. That is in English - "Made in Italy by Mondial".

Posted by: Norah at February 15, 2006 05:55 PMThank you so much for the compliment and the congratulations on winning. I love winning stuff probably cause it doesn't happen often. You and your sweetie look like such a cute couple...best of luck to you both. Do you have a button I can put on my blog to link? Please take one of mine or visit often...as Amy said I'm new at this and would love lots of visitors.
Thanks again...oh...that sweater is GORGEOUS!!! Can't wait to see it done.
The yarn looks beautiful. I love the pictures of your "coach". LOL
Posted by: Cindy at February 19, 2006 12:47 AMOooh, what a pretty yarn! I love the stitch too. Crochet has so many variations to it; I think you could have infinite stitches!
I love your 'coach', btw--such a cute puppy! (They are *all* puppies, regardless of age!) Reminds me of a dauchsand named Marco that used to be one of my best patients at the Vet hosp. (I was a veterinary assistant for awhile.) He used to love to tug on his leash so that it looked like he was 'walking' himself. :D
Keep going! You're making great progress!
