As we walked through the gardens, there was a pretty 18th century Baroque building being repaired. The building has a dark plaster and a light plaster finish and designs are etched into the building by removing parts of the light plaster so the dark plaster shows through. Quite interesting. Anyway, on this 18th century Baroque building full of designs about virtues and gods, etc. is this 5 with a hammer and sickle inside. It was the communist symbol for their magnificent 5 year plan and their way of showing how powerful they were - they could deface a building with their graffetti! Artfully, of course.
