This is a church built just inside the Castle walls, so it's hard to get a good angle with a normal lens
for a photo. The church was started in 1348 and finished in 1929! Not quite 600 years. It has
three distinct phases and is built on the site of a former church. Apparently St. Wenceslas (a former Czech royal)
was buried in the former church sometime in the 900's and for the new church they just moved him over ten feet to
be enclosed in a new, very richly decorated chapel. As an added bonus, he keeps watch over the crown jewels.
There is a little door off to the side of his chapel with seven keyholes. The president, the head of the senate,
the bishop, the priest and a couple of other people all get a key and the door can only be opened if all of the
keys are present. Inside there is supposed to be seven huge sapphires.
A side note about the church. In order to take pictures inside, you have to buy a 1Euro/30CZK "picture pass". And
they have people who go around and ask if you have a picture pass for that photo you just took! Our guide also got
hassled twice for his license. Apparently they have a problem with "black" guides.
